January 31, 2009 - ... URGENT ... URGENT ... Break-ins at Ril
There have been 3 known break-ins on Muskoka Bob Rd. the last week of January 2009. They were reported to the Hunstsille O.P.P. on Saturday January 31, 2009 Three generators, 2 snowblowers, hand tools, air compressor, wakeboard, chainsaw among other items were stolen out of sheds. Locks were carefully cut as not to draw attention, so break-in would go unnoticed. Anyone knowing information that could be helpful, or if you noticed anything unusual or suspicious around the lake please contact Allan Stephenson at al.barb.stephenson@sympatico.ca

June 10, 2007 - Lifelong Cottage friends

I am wondering if you know of any classes for kids ie swimming, canoeing, skiing etc on the lake? I am also wondering if there is a spot on the web page where parents can post and link with other parents to set up play dates ect. I know most families probabally take up other family and friends but we would like to meet other families on the lake that have kids our age. We are lifelong cottagers on the lake and plan to never leave and it would be nice for the kids to meet lifelong summer friends. Sincerely a mom of a seven year old girl and four year old boy. Anyone interested, please contact Tracy by e-mail at tpk@mountaincable.net

(August 28th, 2006) - Urgent ... Ril Lake Polluted Water Occurence ... Urgent:

This past Sunday August 27th a number of property owners at the end of Watson Rd. noticed a black oily like water slick across their bay and accumulating on their beaches, and watercraft. The Ministry of the Environment were called in and identified the slick as "creosote", a highly toxic and polluting chemical used to preserve wood etc. from decay. It is highly probable that the source of this pollution was from a property in the immediate bay area and was carried into the lake by Saturday nights rainfall.

Anyone knowing the source of this pollutant should contact myself , Casey Cook, Vern Fallows, Gary Chadwick, Marg Fielding, Kim Martin or Helen Lucas, as soon as possible, so we can try to stop any future reoccurrences.

Looking forward to finding out the source of this chemical pollutant.

Paul Priest, President, Ril Lake Association
